Parish Pastoral Council
Mission Statement
“Our mission is to provide opportunities for each person to grow in their Catholic faith and to share that faith with others.”
Main purpose of the PCC
- The Parish Pastoral Council is a planning group, focusing on the strategic rather than operational running of the Parish.
-
Its role is to
- overseeing the smooth running of the parish,
- focus on planning for the future,
- identify the key goals and to work out the ‘roadmap’ for reaching the goals,
- Ensure that all decisions taken, and actions adopted, by the PPC should in some way fulfil our Parish Mission statement,
The implementation of the practicalities of the plan will be achieved through other parish groups.
The PPC will address the key areas of the 2024 Strategic Development Plan.
These areas are:
- Organisation.
- Development of faith.
- Social and community.
- Children and youth.
The PPC will focus on the aims and actions of the plan as identified in 2024, over time the aims and objectives, along with the planned actions will develop but will be kept within the structure of the four main areas identified above.
Other Groups (Practical implementation)
It is likely that members of the PPC will also be involved with other practical implementation groups within the parish, or have other leadership/coordination roles, however this is not essential.
Neither is it expected that every practical implementation group, or role, will have a delegate as a member of the PPC.
These other groups, or individuals, should provide updates to the PPC as required, either in writing or by verbal communication with a PPC member who reports on their behalf.
Depending on the nature of the matter at hand, such other groups, or persons, who do not coincidentally have a member on the PPC, may send a representative, or be requested to attend a PPC meeting to report.
