Pope Francis Message to Children, 2024
Pope Francis has asked all the children in the church to pray for Hope.
Will you join in?
Dear God, we thank you for giving us hope when we feel worried, when we are having a hard time, when we don’t know what’s ahead of us and when we are sad. Thank you that even the smallest seed of hope can grow into a big, tall tree. Please help us when we find it hard to be hopeful, so we can offer hope to others. Amen
Let’s pass that Hope on to all our family and friends!
World Children’s Day 2024 and 2025
Did you know that this year saw the Pope host the first World Day of Children?
“What kind of world do we want to leave our children, who are growing up now? Like Jesus, we want to put the children at the centre and care for them”
Pope Francis 8th Dec 2023
The day was inspired by a 9-year-old boy called Alessandro who asked if the children could have an international gathering like the World Youth Day. And so, on the weekend 25-26 May 2024, children from all over the world gathered in Rome.
The Theme was “Behold I make all things new”
Would you like to take part in the next World Children’s Day, on Friday 20th November 2026? Keep looking at this website and the parish newsletter to discover the Diocese plans for this wonderful event.
